Home Up Cringe Separation Anxiety Future Tense Julia Cesare Ace Derringer

Cringe was part of a 48 hour film 'scramble' where competitors race against the clock to write, produce, direct, edit, and present a short film within certain constraints. The aforementioned 48 hour time frame was the first constraint placed on the filmmakers. The second was a film length restriction (under 6 minutes), the inclusion of the lines, 'make a wish', 'I already have', and 'make another one', a specified color (in this case yellow [see sticky notes], and a randomly drawn fruit [the odd starfruit]). The results was Cringe. Another creative genius working partner, Clay Boyce, and I formed BoVine Films for the effort. We, along with a friend (Steve Ross), co-wrote, directed, and edited the short which I still enjoy and smile when I watch. Although the judges liked the film, one of the actors interpreted one of the required lines and we were disqualified from winning. However, it was shown as part of the festival round up, again receiving numerous comments as to its humor and delivery.

This version is the 'draft' version, lacking one scene in the middle (when the primary lead is covered in sticky notes as part of a dream) and some quickly orchestrated music.  Still, it reflects the overall intent and sentiment of the production.
